Iana Shatilova is a dedicated human rights advocate and emergency management
professional. Formerly a Captain in the Ukrainian National Police, she transitioned
her skills and expertise to address pressing issues of conflict-induced displacement and contribute to peace, security, and sustainable development in the Luhansk Region during 2016 - 2022. Her field of expertise includes research, analysis, international refugee protection, emergency preparedness, emergency response, and training for international organizations and humanitarian relief agencies operating in hazardous environments. Fluent in Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, and English, she brings a multicultural perspective to her work.
In her presentation she will share insights about the challenges of operating in hazardous environments, emergency preparedness, emergency response, hazard identification risk assessment in the armed conflict zones.
